Mikayla has embedded herself in the New Orleans music community over the past dozen years, collaborating with local bands and bringing her original music from the streets of the French Quarter to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Her genre bending style reflects the fusion of jazz, funk, folk, and soul she’s experienced in each pocket of the city, and her emotionally driven lyrics delivered by her velvety rich voice creates an atmosphere of warmth for her listeners wherever she performs.
